Server rules
- Be kind. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discrimination, or sexual content, in chat, signs, books, builds or names.
- Keep chat clean. No swearing. ShrimpSMP is family friendly, so keep language suitable for all ages.
- No griefing or stealing. Don't break, change or take from anything you didn't build, even if it isn't claimed.
- No cheating. No hacked clients, x-ray (mods or texture packs), auto-clickers, macros, duplication glitches or exploits. If you find a bug, report it instead of using it.
- No spam or advertising. Don't advertise other servers, websites or Discords, and don't flood chat.
- One account per person. Alt accounts used to get extra vote rewards, items or claim blocks aren't allowed.
- Appropriate content. Usernames, skins, builds, signs and books must be suitable for all ages.
- Respect staff decisions. If you think a decision was unfair, talk to staff calmly rather than arguing in chat.
Gameplay
- Land claims: use a golden shovel to claim your land (right-click two corners). Only you, and people you trust (
/trust), can build or open containers there. Unclaimed builds are still protected by rule 3. - PvP: only fight players who agree to it. Don't kill new players, and don't trap or lure people. PvP is turned off inside the spawn area.
- Spawn: no mobs spawn around spawn, mobs can't hurt you there, and PvP is off. Only staff can build or break blocks near spawn.
- Farms and redstone: farms are welcome, but no lag machines, huge mob grinders or clocks that run non-stop. The server runs on a Raspberry Pi, so keep things reasonable. Staff may turn off builds that cause lag.
- Homes and teleporting: up to 3 homes (
/sethome),/tpato other players,/spawn,/back, and/rtp(5-minute cooldown). - Deaths: your items go into a grave where you died. Only you can open it.
- Economy: in-game money only (
/balance,/pay,/shop). Nothing on the server can be bought with real money. - Voting:
/votefor daily rewards. Vote rewards and vote parties are free, and nothing is bought.
Enforcement
Breaking the rules usually leads to a warning, then a temporary ban, then a permanent ban. Serious cases (hate speech, cheating, major griefing, anything illegal) can lead straight to a permanent ban. Staff can roll back griefing.
